August 9, 2018 - At the Monroe County Progressive Dems meeting Vice President Louisa Dombloski announced that James Smith has rsigned as President. We discussed this and the only person who agreed to put his name up for President of the club was current Treasurer Matthew Jacobson who was unanimously elected as our new President. Now we need someone to replace Matthew as Treasurer. That will be addressed at next month meeting. Following that we had a lively discussion on the purpose of our club and a number of ideas on what we need to be doing. Our primary fiocus should be to help get Democratic candidates elected, but we also discussed all the progressive issues and things we would like to do. Things like socialservice actions like helping the Young Dems with food drives, road cleanups, etc, sponsoring documentaries with discussions about issues important to everyone, like healthcare, womens rights, LGBTQ equality, and the environment. We also discussed upcoming events in the county we should be involved in. Please come to our net meeting on September 13th at 7pm at the MCD Office in Stroudsburg as we further discuss these opportunities for prgress here in Monroe County.
