2018 General Election Dates

First day to REGISTER after primary  - May 16
Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery no later than 11:59 P.M. on May 14)  - May 22
Last day to circulate and file nomination papers - August 1
Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers  - August 8 Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the primary - August 13
First day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot - September 17
Last day to REGISTER before the November election  - October 9
Last day to apply for a civilian absentee ballot  - October 30
Last day for County Boards of Elections to receive voted civilian absentee ballots - November 2
GENERAL ELECTION - November 6
First day to REGISTER after November election  - November 7
Last day for County Board of Elections to receive voted military and overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery no later than 11:59 P.M. on November 5) - November 13

Congressional races:

Note: Due to the new Congressional redistricting by the PA Supreme Court, the Smithfield 1 precinct has been split between the 7th and 8th Congressional Districts. The poll will have 2 sets of voting machines and the poll workers will have their poll books identifying who votes in which district. If you vote at the V.F.W. Post 2540 on 546 Fawn Road and you would like to know which Congressional District you will be voting in, you can look up your polling place here
If it says SMITHFIELD 1 You are in the 7th CD. 
If it says SMITHFIELD 4 you are in the 8th CD.

The following is based on the NEW 2018 Congressional maps as ordered by the PA Supreme Court. 

 7th Congressional District: The Townships of Eldred, Hamilton, Smithfield  (Precinct 02 and 03 and a small portion of Precinct 1), Ross, Stroud and the Boroughs of Stroudsburg, East Stroudsburg and Delaware Water Gap.
