Jim Burke is currently running for Stroudsburg School Board. Jim has lived in Stroudsburg since 2003. He has taught public school students in nearly every grade level. Jim has taught in Bangor Area School District for the last decade and currently serves as the gifted case manager for the Bangor elementary schools. Prior to becoming a teacher, Jim worked in non-profit management and holds a Masters degree in Public Administration. Jim and his wife, Jessica DePete, have two daughters, Delaney and Lila, in the Stroudsburg schools. Jim envisions a dynamic public education system for all students that provides opportunities to gain the necessary skills to be successful and productive citizens.
- Shaun Mullen was born to blog. It just took a few years for the medium to catch up to the messenger. Over a long career with newspapers, this award-winning editor and reporter covered the Vietnam War, O.J. Simpson trials, Clinton impeachment circus and coming of Osama bin Laden, among many other big stories. Mullen was a five-time Pulitzer Prize nominee and has covered 12 presidential campaigns. He is the author of "The Bottom of the Fox: A True Story of Love, Devotion & Cold-Blooded Murder" (2010) and "There's A House In The Land: A Tale of the 1970s" (2014). Both books are available for sale online in trade paperback and Kindle editions. Much of Mullen's work is archived and can be accessed online in the Shaun D. Mullen Journalism Papers in Special Collections at the University of Delaware Library.
Mark Lichty is a former CEO of Bustin Industries in East Stroudsburg. He is a political activist and producer of the documentary "Groundswell Rising"

The Monroe County Democratic Honorary Society Banquet, scheduled for May 2 at the Chateau, is cancelled. But our candidates still need the funding provided by the generosity of the Society members.
